“Darling Ebb” — Vuzz Unleashes Their Darkest Track Yet
Vuzz is back with “Darling Ebb,” a release that marks a sharp left turn into our heaviest and most intense sound so far. Following the lush, cinematic dream-pop textures of Almost Lassen, this new single dives straight into a world of gritty industrial rock, brooding electronics, and atmospheric noise.
“Darling Ebb” began as a reimagined Vinylux piece we once performed as a sparse, found-sound soundscape. For this release, we rebuilt it from the ground up—layering distorted guitars, throbbing synth pulses, and weighty, rhythmic percussion. The track draws influence from industrial and trip-hop pioneers like Nine Inch Nails and Massive Attack, while still carrying the emotional, art-driven sensibility that runs through all of our work.
At the center of the song is a lyrical meditation on pull, longing, and surrender—imagery of waves, ledges, and the desire to step beyond the boundary between fear and freedom. “Darling Ebb” explores that tension in an unfiltered way:
It’s so loud, yet out of reach.
I want to climb from this balcony
to touch the beach, touch the beach. My heart is leaping from my chest.
I want to climb onto the ledge
and feel the sand beneath my feet.I don’t know why.
I’ve never been afraid to die…
Throw my body to the land.I feel the waves…
I want to climb into the waves
and feel the sand beneath my feet.
If you’re into darkwave, trip-hop, industrial synth-rock, or experimental electronic music, this one sits right at that intersection. “Darling Ebb” is a bold new direction for Vuzz—and we’re excited to see where this darker, heavier sound leads next.
